aClock is our product. It built-in 1110 world cities and 203 countries. It can show 12 cities date/time at a time. aClock also provides the "page" function to enable you to set up to 23 favorite cities in two pages. DST is supported and all settings, including the city name, GMT and DST, are customizable. BTW, aClock provides an unique function to allow you to chang the date/time at different time zone and without affect the Palm's system time. How to invoke aSundial

aSundial is a plug-in tool of aClock. Before using aSundial, you have to install aClock into your Palm. To get the information about aClock, please visit http://www.a0soft.com. Once you have installed aClock, you can then invoke aSundial from the aClock main window as shown below. You can tap the return icon or the Return to aClock menu item for returning back to aClock.

If aSundial main program is stored on the memory expansion card (SD card), aClock will import this program into the main memory if you invoke aSundial from aClock. This copied main program won't be deleted from the main memory until it returns back to aClock.

Three Modes - [1], [3] and [C]

aSundial provides you three modes to show the analog clock. You can tap these buttons that locate on the top-right corner of aSundial main window for switching modes.

[1] mode

This mode shows the home city time and date in both big analog clock and big font. aSundial gets the home city information from aClock. So, if you want to change the home city, please return to aClock to do that.

You can tap the time area to change the time format between 12-hour and 24-hour. By default, aSundial gets your favorite time format from the system preference settings.

To tap the date area, aSundial cycles the information of "current date", "current day of year" and "current week of year".

To tap the city name area, aSundial cycles the information of "city name" and "country name".

[3] mode

This mode not only shows the home city time but also shows two world cities time. The two world cities information are got from aClock's top two world cities. So, if you want to change the display world cities, please return to aClock to do that.

As [1] mode, you can tap the date, time and city name area to change the display format.

[C] mode

In this mode, an additional calendar shows on the main window for you to browse.

As [1] mode, you can tap the date, time and city name area to change the display format.

aSundial also supports "week starts Monday" setting. aSundial gets this information from the system preference settings.

aSundial also enables you to show the week number on the calendar if you turn on the option of "show week for calendar" from the Preferences form.

Palm 5-way navigator
Palm 5-way navigator is a newly added feature for Tungsten T/W model. aSundial also supports this for you to operate some functions without using the stylus.
  • In [C] mode,
    • [Left]: to show the previous month.
    • [Right]: to show the next month.
  • In all modes,
    • hold [Select]: to close aSundial and then return to the Application Launcher.

Preferences

aSundial provides various options for you to customize the default behavior of this program.

  To install aSundial
 

 

If you are upgrading aSundial, please note that you should also upgrade aClock to 4.0 or later.

  1. Start the Palm Install Tool application in your Palm directory or folder.
  2. Choose the correct User Name.
  3. Choose the proper aSundial main program (aSundialxxx.prc) file that accompanies the downloaded ZIP file.
  4. HotSync.

aSundial is ready to go. Tap on the Applications button on your PalmPilot and then tap on the icon to invoke aClock. Then, you can invoke aSundial by tapping the tool icon of aClock.

For some Palm types, you may also need to use the "Soft Reset" function to reset your Palm after HotSync has completed to make sure the installed program works.

aSundial.prc: aSundial main program file. The background and clock face of this file is 16 gray levels. It supports the Palm that screen size is 160x160 and it has 16 gray levels. If your Palm's screen size is 160x160 and it's not color enabled (e.g. Vx, m10x, m500, Zire), please install this file.
aSundial-16bit.prc: aSundial main program file. The background and clock face of this file is 65536 colors. It supports the Palm that screen size is 160x160 and it has 65536 or above colors. If your Palm's screen size is 160x160 and it's color enabled (e.g. m505, m515, m130), please install this file.
aSundial-16bit-320.prc: aSundial main program file. The background and clock face of this file is 65536 colors. It supports the Palm that screen size is 320x320 and it has 65536 or above colors. If your Palm's screen size is 320x320 and it's color enabled (e.g. Tungsten T/W/C, Zire 71, PEG-NX60/70V), please install this file.

aSundial is a plug-in tool of aClock. To use it, you have first to install aClock. To get the information regarding aClock, please visit http://www.a0soft.com.

How to install aSundial on the memory expansion card

If your device has a memory expansion card (Palm, Sony, Handspring), you can install the aSundial main program there for saving the main memory. Once you have installed aSundial into the main memory, you can then use a file management tool like FileZ (http://www.nosleep.net) to move the aSundialxxx.prc file from the main memory into /PALM/Programs/A0Soft directory.

  Removing aSundial
 

If you find that you no longer need aSundial (or are trying to conserve memory), removing it from your Palm is quite simple. From the Applications launcher :

  1. Tap the Menu icon
  2. Go to the App menu and choose Delete
  3. Select the aSundial and tap 'Delete...'
  4. At this point you will be asked to confirm your request
  5. To do so, tap 'Yes'. To return to the application launcher tap 'Done' and confirm that the aClock application no longer appears.
